A Prayer for Australia

God of vast spaces and many peoples, we ask your blessing upon Australia. Guide and sustain leaders at every level from the Prime Minister, to Premiers of each state, to those leading in their local communities whether civically, culturally, or within your Church. Strengthen bonds between immigrants, native Australians descended from immigrants, as well as indigenous peoples. Guide those preserving Australia’s great natural bounty entrusted to it by creation. Bless every citizen and those eagerly working toward citizenship. Let the world learn more about this great nation and let those who visit it be blessed and share their happy stories of this epic land in many languages across many nations. We pray this through the power of the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

  1. Thank you very much for your message on Australia Day. e had over a foot of rain last week! McKenna House is being truly blessed. We are truly international. Br Carl is in USA or China, Br Neal is preparing to return and still livs in Ballarat Victoria. His Bishop is progressing our application for recognition. Deacon Jonathan form the Episcopal Church of the Philippines is a serious Inquirer as is James Bishop from far Western Australia. We have re-invigorated Oblate Jeremy from the Gold Coast of Queensland.I am privileged to still be the Prior of such a widespread House. My main ministry in that is sending out a "round robin"letter to all members and Inquirers while encouraging them to reply to all other addressees. It seems to be working. I include Bro Franklin in the correspondence as he also has contacts with our Oblate and Inquirers.
I am assisting the Principal of our Wontulp-bi-buya College with his ministry at the Indigenous St Lukes Church in Cairns. Our Bishop does not seem to be worried that he is both Principal and Priest-in-Charge of a parish.I will be needing to spread my Dominican wings just a little wider.
    Every blessing. Barry OP
